Natura in action
What is Natura?
Natura is Ant Dimension’s ultimate range, where nature-inspired materials meet a modular, adaptable architecture.
It supports your colony from founding with a queen to thousands of workers without rehousing, thanks to progressive scaling and secure connectors. With indestructible Natura Material, an optional HydroX system (10/30/100 ml, 4 adjustable outlets), and ventilation, it delivers environmental control, stability, and perfect observation.

THE MOST NATURAL NEST
Natura is a modular system that grows with your colony: choose the initial size and expand it with no relocations or escapes.
Customizable humidity with HydroX (optional 10/30/100 ml and 4 outlets) for species that require high humidity, with fine per-module control.
- Expansion in any direction with secure connectors.
- Ventilation and anti-vibration Softpads.
- Red cover: less stress, better observation.
- Ready to use: shipped pre-assembled.

Natura Modular System.
Natura is designed so you can expand and reconfigure your nest with complete freedom: choose the module layout from the start and change it whenever you need—no rehousing, no escapes.

Features
A range of sizes and foraging arenas for intuitive scaling.
Modular connectors with locking caps: open, seal, or redirect ports as you like.
Rugged design for safe transport and heavy use.
Compact footprint that makes better use of desk or shelf space.
Feet with Softpads: stabilize each module, reduce stress, and protect your furniture.
HydroX Humidification System
Built-in waterer
Ants can drink directly from the humidity outlets, which also serve as a waterer.
Magnetically secured
Magnets and a precise fit keep the reservoir perfectly aligned and stable at all times.
Durable glass reservoir
Thick, durable glass reservoir—easy to clean and quick to refill.

4 outlets
10/30/100 ml
Visible water level.
Four adjustable outlets to distribute humidity and allow them to drink.
Three reservoir sizes so you can feel at ease while you’re away.
The glass reservoir lets you see the water level at all times.
Completely leak-proof
1
Millimeter-precise anti-escape
Precision tolerances that prevent escapes, even with small species.
2
Airtight gates
Open or close connections in under a second to manage modules and foraging arenas stress-free.

Acrylic secured with stainless steel screws that preserve flatness and clarity over time.
Usage recommendations
Lateral, controllable heat
Use a heat cable or heat mat only along the sides of the module—never underneath or on top of the nest. Control the temperature with a thermostat and probe to prevent heat spikes and condensation.
HydroX: water—only water
Fill HydroX with potable water only. Avoid nectars or other liquids—they can clog and damage the system.
Expansion when needed
Expand when the nest is ~70–80% occupied. Connect the new module and open the gates.
No direct heat on Natura
Do not place heat sources directly on the modules. Localized heat can warp parts, cause stress, and pose risks to the colony.
HydroX cap: tighten by hand
Hand-tighten until snug. Do not use tools or overtighten to prevent damage.
Low light and red cover
Keep the included red cover on to simulate darkness. Remove it only for brief observations and in soft ambient light.
Springtails for exotic ponerine species
Add springtails as a “clean-up crew” to reduce mite outbreaks. They can move through the modules from the foraging arena without damaging them.
Ventilation to reduce condensation
Use the included ventilation connector and avoid sudden temperature changes or direct light. This helps maintain a more stable microclimate.
Avoid direct sunlight and drafts
No direct sunlight, radiators, or drafts. Rapid temperature/humidity swings promote condensation and stress.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about this product.
What is the Natura base?
The Natura base is the color of our Natura + sand blend that we apply to the inside of the nest.
Is it compatible with traditional nests and outworlds?
Absolutely—use our modular connectors to link them securely.
Is there any functional difference between the Natura base colors?
In most cases, you’ll choose the color based on the color of the ant you’re introducing, so it contrasts well. Black, Yellow, and Red are desert substrates, while White is silica sand.
Can the nest be expanded in the future?
Yes. All models are designed to be modular and compatible with future expansions using the connectors.
Which species is this nest suitable for?
The Natura range is suitable for common ant species from small to large, such as Messor, Lasius, Crematogaster, and Camponotus, among others. It also accommodates a wide variety of exotic species including Odontomachus, Polyrhachis, Pheidole, Solenopsis, Harpegnathos, Carebara, etc. Check with us if you have a specific species in mind.
Does it include ants?
No, but you can add them to your cart for free. You can also choose our complete kits that include ants.
What basic care should I provide for my ants?
Keep a stable temperature (between 20–28 °C, depending on the species).
Do not expose the nest to direct sunlight.
Ensure the ants always have access to water by keeping HydroX filled.
Feed with sugar water or Sunburst, and proteins (such as small insects). If they are granivorous, you can use seeds instead of sugary liquids.
