Expandable modular system: Thanks to its modular design, the Natura Foundation can be easily connected to other modules in the Natura or Classic ranges via secure, leak-proof connectors. The gates let you open or close connections with a simple gesture, making it easy to expand the nest as the colony grows.
Transparent red lid: The included red lid provides the ants with a natural sense of darkness and shelter while allowing you to observe their behavior without disturbing them. It helps maintain colony stability, reduces stress, and supports reproductive processes—even under artificial light.

The Natura base is the color of our Natura + sand blend that we apply to the inside of the nest.
Is it compatible with Classic nests and outworlds?
Absolutely, use our modular connectors to join them securely.
Is there any functional difference between the Natura base colors?
In most cases, you’ll choose the base color based on the color of the ant you’re introducing, to ensure good contrast. Black, Yellow, and Red are desert substrates, while White is silica sand.
Can the nest be expanded in the future?
Yes. All models are designed to be modular and compatible with future expansions via the connectors.
Which species is this nest suitable for?
The Natura range is designed for common ant species from small to large—such as Messor, Lasius, Crematogaster, and Camponotus—and also covers a wide range of exotic species, including Odontomachus, Polyrhachis, Pheidole, Solenopsis, Harpegnathos, Carebara, and more. Contact us if you have a specific species in mind.
Does it include ants?
No, but you can add them to your cart for free. You can also choose our complete kits with ants included.
What basic care should I provide for my ants?
Keep a stable temperature (20–28 °C, depending on the species).
Do not expose the nest to direct sunlight.
Make sure the ants always have access to water by keeping the HydroX topped up.
Feed sugar water or Sunburst, plus proteins (such as small insects).
If they’re granivorous, you can use seeds instead of sugary liquids.
