Quick guide for ants (for reference)
Messor (granivorous)
Excellent protein supplement. Better chopped at the beginning to prevent them from dragging it into the nest.
Pheidole
Highly accepted; encourages active foraging. Increase frequency with abundant brood.
Camponotus
High protein demand; prefer portions in young colonies.
Tetramorium / Lasius
Good utilization; large pieces prevent leftovers from entering the nest.
Formica
Efficient hunters. Avoid excess food to prevent mold.
General tip: alternate with other prey/insects and adjust the amount to the colony size. Remove any darkened or unconsumed pieces.
Specialized summer/winter shipping
We use packaging and thermal conditioning tailored to the season so your mealworms arrive in optimal condition. If any arrive inactive during transit, let them acclimate to room temperature before use.

Frequently asked questions
Do they come live or dehydrated?
This product is live food. If you’re looking for dehydrated ones, ask us about availability in the store.
How many should I offer my ants?
It depends on the species and colony size. As a reference, offer a small amount and remove what isn’t consumed within ≤ 10–12 h. Increase gradually if there’s a lot of brood.
Can I feed a queen on her own?
Yes, with small portions (pieces or head/hemolymph). If she doesn’t consume it, remove it to avoid moisture and mold.
Do they smell a lot or can they infest?
Kept on dry substrate and with proper ventilation, odor is low. In household conditions and with correct handling, they do not cause infestations.
How do I store them?
Ventilated container with oats/bran, in a cool, dry place. Provide vegetables as a water source and avoid excess moisture. Do not freeze.
